When most people think of publishing, they think of editorial work, but there are also a lot of exciting career opportunities in book production and design. This panel will illuminate all the many different stages a book goes through between the time when the manuscript gets copy edited and when the final files get sent to the printer. You will learn the importance of creating realistic production schedules, setting specs and getting printer quotes, the cover design and interior typesetting process, and designing high-quality marketing collateral including trade show booths, ads, and more. |
